FOI Talk With Robert Ondere

These FOI conversations feature representatives from educational organizations across the globe with the aim to create awareness for, and to better support, equity within education.

Robert Ondere is a native of Kenya who holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from Kenyatta University – Kenya, a Master of Education Degree from the University of South Carolina and a second Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University in Salt-Lake City, Utah. In 2006, at the invitation of FACES (Foreign Academic and Cultural Exchange Services), Robert came to the United States to teach Mathematics at a South Carolina High School. During his teaching tenure in South Carolina, Robert was honored with several awards and recognitions, among them has been The Milken National Educator Award. These awards and recognitions have opened doors for him to work closely and share a stage with exceptionally brilliant educators in the United States and around the world. These interactions triggered an interest in policy analysis, especially in the realm of equity, vulnerability, gender, and race. Robert currently serves as the vice president of corporate relations at the Africa Center for Strategic Progress (ACSTRAP) where they seek to influence African policy on a wide range of issues. Robert is currently teaching in China.
